Your Remodeling Questions Answered

Imagine if you could have any and every question about remodeling your space answered by a professional… at no charge.

That’s actually what you get with a complimentary consultation at Drury Design.

Whether you’ve been dreaming about a kitchen overhaul for years or just started playing with the idea of a bathroom refresh, our complimentary consultation is your chance to explore the possibilities with one of our expert designers. No strings attached — just a helpful, informative conversation about what you want and what’s possible.

So, what happens during one of these consultations? And why are they so valuable? Let’s break it down…

What Happens During a Complimentary Consultation?

The short version: One of our talented designers — maybe Senior Designer Samantha Schoell, or maybe another member of our expert team — will come to your home (or meet virtually, or in our showroom) to talk through your project. This isn’t just a “quick chat and then we’ll send you a brochure” kind of deal. This is a deep dive into your space, your style, and your needs.

We start by getting a feel for your vision. Do you have a particular look in mind? Any ideas from Instagram or Pinterest? Samantha puts it simply: “We’ll discuss what you like, what you don’t like, and what your goals are for the space. And don’t worry if you’re not sure — that’s why we do this!”

From there, we get into the practical stuff. Is that wall you want to remove load-bearing? Would moving your sink make sense? Is that even possible? We help you figure out what’s possible within your space’s structural limitations. Plus, we’ll walk through potential designs, sketch ideas, and talk through possible layouts — all based on what makes sense for you.

Our Designer’s Questions

Our designers will have questions, too — aimed at making sure your space functions as beautifully as it looks. These questions might not be ones you’ve thought of yet, but they’ll definitely help paint the full picture of your project.

Here’s a sampling:

  • How do you use your kitchen/bathroom on a daily basis?
  • Do you prefer a sleek, modern look or something more traditional?
  • Are you open to removing walls to create a more open layout?
  • How many people need to be seated at the island or dining area?
  • Do you prefer an apron-front or undermount sink?
  • What kind of storage do you need — pantry, drawers, cabinets?
  • Do you want a showpiece custom range hood or something more subtle?
  • How do you feel about glass-front cabinets?
  • Would you like a beverage center or wine fridge?
  • Do you want extra outlets for small appliances?
  • Are you interested in smart kitchen or bath technology?
  • Would you prefer natural stone or manmade countertops?
  • Are you thinking about a heated floor in the bathroom?
  • Do you want a single or double vanity in the bathroom?
  • How much decorative lighting do you envision?
  • Have you considered a steam shower or freestanding tub?
  • Do you prefer soft-close drawers and cabinets?
  • Would you like integrated trash and recycling?
  • Do you need extra storage for pots, pans, or small appliances?
  • Are you a fan of bold colors, or do you prefer a more neutral palette?
