Updated Arts & Crafts Chicago Kitchen
This client’s love of the Arts and Crafts movement was the jumping-off point for a kitchen in a converted warehouse condo in downtown Chicago. The use of quarter-sawn oak with contrasting black-painted hickory provides a fresh take on a classic style, while a secondary catering kitchen/wet bar gives modern edge to the Arts and Crafts style.
Modern appliances and warm colors create an inviting place to craft meals. A well-placed mirror reflects views of Chicago from the floor-to-ceiling windows opposite the space. The project scope also included design of an adjacent living area and home office.
