Old-World Charm – Meet Modern Day Kitchen
Some things are timeless – like the old-world sensibility featured in this traditional kitchen redesign. The residents loved the charm of 19th-century Europe, the finish of relic furniture and the beautiful antique hutch they’d already acquired for their kitchen. But while the look would be traditional, their appliances function needed to be modern.
The original floorplan was kept intact, but the stone-framed hearth was made the visual centerpiece of this striking redesign. Working closely with the Grabill Cabinets, they were able to create a wonderful finish to match an existing piece of furniture chosen by the homeowners. A second, darker custom stain provides the perfect contrast, while hidden nooks for spice preserve a sense of discovery.
