Home Bar Gets a Bold Makeover! 

Sometimes, all it takes is one meaningful object to spark an extraordinary design. For the homeowners of this bold bar refresh, that object was a sentimental vase in a rich, captivating teal—a color that held deep personal significance. This single piece set the tone for a sophisticated makeover that turned their bar into a stunning statement space.

This isn’t the first time one special item has inspired a complete design transformation. In fact, we recently worked on another project, Glamorous with Green, where a family’s cherished kitchenware influenced the vision for their custom kitchen. Similarly, in this bar refresh, the homeowners sought to bring their personal story into the design, creating a space as unique as the memories tied to the vase.

Positioned between the kitchen and dining room, their bar already had the structural elements to shine, with a gorgeous quartzite countertop in place. But it lacked the personality they envisioned—until the teal vase became the driving force behind an artful and bold redesign.

A cherished vase from our client’s collection sparked the vision for their new bar.. The vibrant teal brings in a fun twist for the homeowners and guests to enjoy themselves as they refill a drink or make a cocktail! 

Design Objectives:

Instead of replacing everything, the approach was strategic: the homeowners swapped out the plain white cabinetry for a fresh, vibrant teal. This single bold choice completely changed the feel, bringing depth and artistry to the space. Open shelving replaced the existing glass display cabinet, further modernizing the look and making their collection of whiskey and glass drinkware a stylish focal point.

Design Solutions:  

• Opted for a deep, sophisticated teal that pairs beautifully with the warm veining of the quartzite

• Chose open shelving to keep the design light and airy, avoiding the visual weight of bulky cabinets

• Styled the bar with curated bottles and glassware, turning function into an artful display

When refreshing the bar space, we incorporated open shelving and ample lighting to create a brighter, more inviting feel. To enhance functionality, we also replaced the lower right cabinet with a sleek wine fridge.

Hardware with a twist—literally! This wavy, artistic touch adds just the right amount of flair to the bold new bar.

The existing quartzite was already a stunning feature, complementing their vision—so it remained as the perfect foundation for the refresh.

The homeowner’s tile selection adds the perfect touch of shimmer and texture, beautifully complementing their curated glassware display.
