Drury Design Wins 2023 Master Design Award

We are thrilled to announce that Qualified Remodeler has honored Drury Design for our work on a craftsman kitchen remodel in the Ravenswood Manor Historic District in the Albany Park community of North Chicago. Led by Senior Designer Samantha Schoell, the project updated the kitchen and dining nook of a 100-year old home in a neighborhood known for its architectural treasures. The project earned the Silver Award in the “Kitchen – More than $150k” category of the publishing organization’s 2023 Master Design Awards.

The is the 45th year Qualified Remodeler has recognized the achievements of innovative remodelers across the country. Entries are judged on aesthetic appeal, construction techniques used, handling of unusual situations, attention to detail, functionality of space and overall impression of the project.

 “We’re honored by this recognition,” Drury Design owner and Creative Director Gladys Schanstra said. “We love the challenge of updating a grand old home with modern ideas and improved functionality nestled within a distinct design style that is deserving of a mindful update. Samantha worked very closely with this client to understand the family’s goals and bring fresh design ideas to the table.” 

 “It was an absolute pleasure to work with the clients on their wonderful home,” Senior Designer Samantha Schoell said. “The homeowners’ wants and wishes were a fun challenge that played to our construction team’s strengths in terms of overall engineering and detail work. It was also a perfect fit for our own cabinet line, Drury Select Custom Cabinets.”

Assistant Designer Hamza Shahin worked closely with Samantha on this project, assisting with drawings and renderings that helped the homeowners see the full potential of the spaces they were renewing.
