Making a gorgeous entertaining space out of a previously narrow, isolated kitchen was the goal with this beautiful Western Springs transitional kitchen remodel. A previous owner’s powder room was blocking access to the living room and dampening family gatherings. It was time for a change.
By removing the powder room and creating an “airplane sized” bathroom near the back door instead, designer Diana Burton was able to open up the kitchen to more life. A pre-existing chimney became the anchor for a kitchen island, and a palette of blue, cream and truffle colors makes the new space shine.
